Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Software

Jobscope MRO Manufacturing Software

Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) is different from manufacturing. In manufacturing, all the raw materials and parts required to make the final item from scratch must be purchased and received or provided from stock. With these materials available, the manufacturing process then converts these materials into finished items which are shipped to the customer. In MRO, the process starts with an item that needs repair or overhaul. Only the parts which are to be replaced need to be purchased or provided from stock. Some of the parts of the item must be removed for repair work, and some of the parts may be used as is. Manufacturing software doesn't work like this.

Jobscope's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Management manufacturing software system does what needs to be done for the MRO environment. The system can be used with only several simple steps in the process, or it can be used record a large amount of detail. The following paragraphs describe the more detailed process.

The system receives items for repair and provides for recording information like serial numbers and data about the shipping container. At receipt, one or more evaluation work orders may be created. The act of receiving creates a job that will automatically collect material, labor and subcontract costs for the repair process.

A teardown work order may be created. As a part of the teardown process, parts may be dispositioned as scrap, replace, use as is, repair and six other dispositions. The system maintains data on rotables and substitutes to aid in this process. Dispositions such as replace, which require a part, will automatically create a requirement for the part in the materials module. Creation of a teardown work order automatically creates an assembly work order.

Repair work orders may be created for parts dispositioned to repair. The work order routings use the "same as except" concept, which automatically tailors the routing for the required repairs.

After assembly, the shipping module provides for shipping the item back to the customer.

Actual costs are automatically recorded through every stage of the process.
